    Sources said Sharma’s reply was being considered and soon a detailed note would be sent to the CBI. The agency,sources added,would initiate action once they had received the sanction for both the officials as the report had indicted the two.

    After receiving the Shunglu Committee report,Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had directed that explanations be sought from Lalli and Sharma in the award of broadcasting rights of the Commonwealth Games,which caused a loss of Rs 135 crore to the exchequer. Both Lalli and Sharma had denied allegations of any wrongdoing. The PMO had referred the case to the CBI besides seeking a report from the ministry on the issue.
