A woman entering our community responds personally to God's call by exploring with others a common vision, values and beliefs. In her day-to-day life, she shares her giftedness in service, prayer, community living and recreation.
The Ursulines of Prelate have ministered in many locations in Western Canada, as well as Brazil, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. Now they are mostly found serving the people of Saskatchewan and Alberta.

In 1919, aware of the need of immigrant families, Father Joseph Riediger, OMI invited Mother Clementia Graffelder and Sisters from Cologne, Germany, to share life, the Gospel message and their mission of education with the people of Prelate and the surrounding rural communities.
A Woman for Our Times
In 1535, St. Angela Merici founded the Company of St. Ursula in Brescia, Italy. In a time of great upheaval and turmoil, St. Angela endeavored to educate young women and, through them, renew family life.
