1976 Bobby Farrell was catapulted into celebrity and music success by Frank Farian and
Boney M. Forever one and the same with the group’s image, Bobby’s personality was an instant media dream. And then those moves !
His unique, quirky dance technique enthralled all that saw him. For Boney M recordings Farian created the male vocal utilising studio effects to his own voice. For the group’s concert performances Bobby would mimic the deep male voice created for the recordings live, bringing the sound out of the confines of it’s studio origins to the general public.
The almost instant and staggering success of the project , non stop working ( and partying ) was not all happiness for Bobby. Personal issues remained unsolved for him and the high life and work took its toll . By 1981 the damage was done and he and the group parted company.

Roberto Alfonso Farrell (6 October 1949 – 30 December 2010)[1] was an Aruban dancer, visual performer, singer and DJ. He was a member of the 1970s R&B group Boney M.[2]
Biography
[edit]Birth and early life
[edit]Farrell was born and raised on the Caribbean island of Aruba in the Dutch colony of Curaçao and Dependencies (later known as the Netherlands Antilles). He left after finishing school at age 15 and was a sailor for two years before moving to Norway. He then went to the Netherlands, where he found occasional work as a DJ before moving to Germany for better opportunities.
