Abstract
Metastatic bone disease occurs in patients with lung cancer in % of patients at the time of diagnosis and as the patients live longer, incidence of bone metastases increases. It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of our David at the Montreal General Hospital from COVID complications. Devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Born in Quebec City to Clara Ethel Rosenstein and John Schulman, he received a Bachelor of Commerce at Université Laval. In David moved to Montreal after a diplomatic posting in Australia. Constant rock of support to his brother Charles during hospitalization and recovery, David was a dear brother-in-law to Clare and a mentor and champion to his niece and nephew, Alison and John. He is survived by numerous much-loved cousins on both sides. A former board member of Montreal's Spanish & Portuguese Synagogue and longtime member of Shaar Hashomayim Synagogue, where he enjoyed learning with the Adult Study Group. It was at the Shaar that David met the love of his life, Vera Hirsh, with whom he would share thirty-two loving years together, and became an adoptive father to Julia and Denton (Kristi) and grandfather to Callie and Lyla.
